the novel is rich in poetry, symbolism and metaphor. it does not fit easily into a definite pattern, being neither a novel of "manners" in the tradition of austen, or a straightforward gothic romance in the style of mrs radcliffe. what charlotte bronte did was to create a work which cleverly blends elements of the two styles, and which remains uniquely independent of them at the same time, since it addresses issues which were at the time rather controversial.

the novel is written in the first person, and thus magnifies the central character - the reader enters the world of jane eyre and is transported through her experiences at first hand. this at once makes the work subjective, especially since we know that charlottes brontes own life and experiences were so closely interwoven with the heroine's. as well as this we learn only at the end of the novel that the events are being related to us ten years after the reconciliation with rochester - thus the narrative is retrospective (looking back). cb is clever in blending the narrative so that at times jane seems to be speaking as an adult with adult hindsight , while at others she she is "in the middle" of them, as a child or young woman. the indecision which is a central issue in the book, is heightened by this device. we never know, as readers, whether to be entirely trustful of janes actions and thoughts, because we are never sure wheher she is speaking impulsively or maturely.

this intensifies the readers dilemma as to what is "right" and "wrong" in the dramatic relationships which are part of je's life. can we believe what the heroine says, or is she deceiving herself? the novel is primarily a love story and a "romance" where wishes come true but only after trials and suffering. the supernatural has its place, as do dreams, portents and prophesies. the heroine begins poor and lonely and ends up rich and loved; the orphan finds a good family to replace the wicked one; all the basic ingredients of classic romantic fairytale are present.

the romantic element is present in two forms in jane eyre; the "family" aspect is dealt with in the gateshead, lowood and moor house episodes, which involve the exchanging of the wicked reed family for the benevolent rivers one; and the love romance is dealt with in the thornfield and ferndean episodes. both aspects are, of course linked and interwoven throughout the novel.

the book《 pride and prejudice》 is written by jane austen , a famous english writer .

i still remember the first sentence in this book .it reads :"it is a truth well known to all the world that an unmarried man in possession of a large fortune must in need of a wife ." the undertone is very clear : the foundation of the marriage at that time is not emotion but possession. love seems to be a perpetual theme all the time .and the main story in the book pride and prejudice is not a exception .the writer tells us her views and attitudes about love and marriage in this book.

the novel mainly tells us a love story between elizabath and mr. darcy.it is at a ball that elizabeth meets mr. darcy for the first time and his pride and supercilious behaviors has left elizabeth a terrible impression . this is the reason why elizabeths prejudice towards him begins .besides this reason ,there are two other incidents strengthens elizabeths prejudice .the first is that wickham speaks ill of mr. darcy, which makes elizabeth thinks him is unworthy to making acquaince of.the second is that elizabeth regards darcy is the person who separates her sister jane and mr. bingley.but with the plots developing ,darcy has changed himself and become no longer pride ,he also helps jane and bingleys reunion .all these factor change elizabeths attitude towards darcy. eventually , elizabeth and darcy become a couple and lead a happy life from then on.

after reading this novel, i realize the author—jane austen’s attitudes and views towards love and marriage: is unpractical to get married just for property, wealth and social status while would it be without caring about these elements. marriage should be based on a real love and it is not a game! you can not just enjoy it without prudent considerations. there is a gap which is called pride and prejudice between elizabeth and darcy , for they possess different society status and amount of property. but the ending which the author arranges that elizabeth and darcy break all the obstacles and become a love couple suggests that true do exist no matter how different the background ,the status is .and i think this book will arouse people’s awareness of the importance of true love in a marriage.

the winter vacation, i read a famous adventure story book - "treasure island", which is the nineteenth century british writer stevenson wrote, "treasure island". stevenson in the story, the vast sea, the desolate island created a yizhenyihuan world to readers, leading the reader into a fantasy realm shrouded veil. the story happened in eighteenth century, geoff. dr hopkins is a small boy, he wants to go to sea treasure.

one day, an old captain died in the bu admiral hotel, a boy named jim to found the treasure island map in the luggage, and gave the squire started a fun trip, dealing with pirates, seaman, to experience all sorts of phenomena between sincere and crew faithful, hypocritical, cruel, witnessed scenes of a thrilling story. reading this adventure story makes me feel a lot. the protagonist geoff. dr hopkins is a timid child.

after his father died, he started a fun adventure, in exploration, at the beginning of geoff is just a waiter in the cabin, but he has the courage to fight with the enemy, then the ship from the hands of pirates, and appointed captain. although geoff. dr hopkins often impulsive, but he has shown extraordinary courage and insight, enough to be impressed. geoff. he hopkins with courage and courage, a little timid and overcautious boy into a big hero. sometimes we encounter problems, they stumble, dont try to explore solutions. we should learn from him, meet problems and try hard to solve them.

at the end of the story, when geoff returned, he did not mention how much money he had received. instead, he vowed not to hunt for treasure any more. he was often troubled by nightmares, dreaming of the sea and gold coins. gold coins make geoff have nightmares, not dreams of riches and honour. he who pursues material satisfaction only ends up in vain; greed and desire never bring good life. if everyone knew that, no one would do anything wrong for the sake of money.

shakspere (wrong spelling) created hamlet--a man with wisdom and courage .in order to revenge on his uncle for killing his father, he pretented (spelling mistake) to be mad and suffered a series of misery. on the contrary, we can also say that hamlet is rude and selfish for he did not think twice before his revenge . if (capitalize "if" since it is the beginning word of the sentence.) a country has no king, how can a country keep alive (you need a question mark here since it is a question.) so, every thing has two sides, the bright side and adumbral side. every time we make a decision we have to think twice.

comment:

be careful with your spelling, grammar, and punctuation. too many uncessary mistakes.

it is good that you looked at both the dark and bright sides of hamlet. thats quite objective and convincing.
